DUN GOT PROMOTED
“SARGE”
SCR Hollywood Smoke (bit of heat) x Sheriff of blackburn
6 Year Old AQHA REGISTRED DUNSKIN GELDING
$15,000
Dun Got Promoted Riding on the Ranch
“Sarge” is a conformationally correct, smart, cowy and a very powerful gelding. He has a willing mind and is most definitely an athlete. He naturally wants to drive from his hindquarters and drags his butt when he stops. Sarge has a solid foundation is very soft in the bridle, he picks up his leads and lopes circles both directions. He is started on the roping dummy, has pasture rode some and tracked live cattle lightly. He has the potential to be a top 1D barrel horse, he currently has two half sisters (by same stallion-from first limited foal crop) that have both proven to be 1D competitors in their first few times being entered. He also has the mind, cowiness and athleticism to handle being a top notch breakaway horse and/or team roping horse.
Sarge is sired by Sheriff Of Blackburn, ABRA World Champion Amt Calf Horse, 2x AQHA World Show Top Ten Amt Calf Horse, Calf Roping and Team Roping Money Earner. Oldest foals are 5, in very limited foal crop he has sired 1 AQHA World Show qualifier, 2 1D barrel horses with others showing potential and several great ranch horses.
Sarge’s dam was used as an amateur heel horse and sorting horse prior to sustaining a career ending injury. She has a 1D maternal half sister running barrels in the southwest. SCR Hollywood Smoke is sired by Bobby Lewis trained, Bit Of Heat. Bit Of Heat qualified 2X for the World Show (Open) in Heading, once in Heeling and was a finalist in Heading. Earned: 10 Performance Wins; 139.0 Performance Points; 1 Performance Register of Merit; 2 Performance Superior Awards.
Kayla’s Tool Chic
“Tooley”
Jody O’Toole x Kayla’s Fuel (Oklahoma Fuel)
23 Year Old registered aqha chestnut mare
Retired barrel horse • possible broodmare
23 Year Old Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare
“Tooley” sells to an approved home only. I absolutely love this mare and her breeding but we have so many young ones coming up and have a young family that I do not have time to put into getting a foal out of her. However, if the person who buys her gets a foal on the ground by her, I would be very interested in purchasing the foal, especially if it was by a good stallion!
I AI’d her one time to a stallion with great semen in 2024, she did not take and had some fluid post breeding, we lavaged her but she still didn’t settle. I live covered her to my stallion a couple time on the same breeding cycle (when she showed signs of being in, she was not ultrasounded prior to breeding her to know exactly where she was in her cycle), she did not settle. I never put her on any supplements or regumate, etc. I simply tried when we had time. AQHA records show that she has had 4 or 5 foals in the past. I cannot guarantee that she would settle for you but there are definitely things to try still to try to get a foal out of her if that’s your goal. My vet did think she had a small cyst on one ovary, I’d be happy to release the vet records I have on her. She and I earned a small equistat earnings making the short go of the BBR in 2020. The girl who owned her prior to me college rodeo’d on her in North Texas. She was trained by LeAnn Nalls. She was also pasture rode and roped on some throughout her life before I got her. I purchased her in 2018 when she was 15 and ran her until 2022, my last race on her I was almost 7 months pregnant, I trusted her that much!
She is retired now and hasn’t been ridden in 2 or 3 years, she might handle a handy kid riding her, but she does not like being pulled on in the bridle and she would need some maintenance (for sure hocks and stifles injected) if they wanted to try to run her a little. She is as solid as they come at the barrel races, honest as a day is long. If we hit a barrel it was usually my fault. She used to get a little prancy in the warm up pen but never bad or uncontrolled she just likes to keep moving, she never refused the alley, just point and go. I could trot the barrels and cruze the barrels on her in the practice pen but she was never a fan of slow loping them for me, she wasn’t naughty but seemed to crossfire often between first and second barrel at a slow lope. She is solid on the pattern and always turned great and she doesn’t need to see it in between races, I just long trotted her to keep her legged up.
She is easy to catch and load, she stands tied, bathes, tolerates palpation. She has had all the therapies done to her, aquatredded, cold salt spa’d, etc etc she handles it all in stride. She absolutely will not tolerate her head being tied around to the side, bitting up or extensive flexing of her head/neck. My vets never pinpointed anything specific in her neck but she seemed slightly stiff in her neck to me so I always warmed her up, flexed and stretched her good before making a run on her. She’d make a good baby sitter for younger horses at the trailer and I’m sure did make a great mama and would again if you could get her settled.
I don’t “have” to sell her, I’m okay with her living out her days here but I feel like she is going to waste just standing around here so if she can have a job being a mama for a breeder or taking some kid to the pay window I’d love that for her.
““I recently (2018) bought a horse from Double M Performance Horses. He was everything they said he was and I am very happy with my purchase. I appreciated their honesty and being able to work with me to make this purchase happen. If you are looking for a horse, I highly recommend Double M for your next purchase.””
“Misti & Mitch are the best people to work with when looking for your next horse. In addition to a wonderful gelding for my daughter, they have been helpful even when I’ve just had a question or needed to bounce an idea off of someone. They will be there long after the transaction has been completed and will be just as excited for your success with your new horse partner as you are.”
